There are a couple of reasons why GoodWe might have limitations in upgrading batteries compared to Fronius:
- Newer Battery Focus: GoodWe entered the residential battery storage market later than Fronius. Fronius has had more time to develop a wider range of compatible batteries and potentially refine their upgrade process.
- Inverter Compatibility: GoodWe inverters might be more specific about compatible battery models. Their systems might prioritize tight integration and communication between the inverter and battery for optimal performance and safety. This could limit the number of third-party batteries they officially support for upgrades. But latest GoodWe inverters are now supporting range of third party battery storage solutions.
- Focus on New Systems: It’s possible GoodWe prioritizes selling new inverter and battery packages rather than focusing heavily on upgrading older inverters with various battery options.
